ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Jan Hermans is an artist who has chosen
for making a living as an engineer, but a passion in art
Born in Vlaardingen, in 1962 as grandson of the famous
painter of landscapes and hunting scenes, Josef Schrijnder ,
he hasn't stopped painting and drawing since his 5th. year.

Up till now, little publicity has been given to his work
A pity, perhaps, because graphical work like "dragons"
and "fluid perspectives", as well as more laborious work
in a combination of airbrush and oil paint on wooden panel are
probably worth a wider audience. Perhaps this website will help

The techniques that Jan uses are:
technical pens, oil paint, airbrush
and now and again, computer drawing and photography
Techniques not used by Jan Hermans are
those of aquarel and charcoal drawing
Charcoal crayons are, according to Jan Hermans,
more suited for the noble art of cooking

This exposition shows some of what he considers his top works:
An airbrush picture of a dragon with his fiery surrounding,
A photograph which gives an impression
of the colourful ambience of Chinese culture
