Tour de Vincent

Jan van Gogh has made a pilgrimage
to some of the landmarks which still
breathe the atmosphere of the great artist
Vincent van Gogh

In each location, Jan made a special painting
which symbolizes the link between this place
and the life and oeuvre of Vincent van Gogh

The "Nomads" symbolize the violent emotions and that Vincent van Gogh
experienced when his first love in England (London period) was in vain

A painting inspired on the huge piles of mine refuse from the coal mines
in the Borinage (French-speaking part of Belgium, near Mons)
where Vincent once preached for the miners.
Nowadays, these piles are overgrown and the mines are deserted
A symbol of the sad expression in Vincent's early paintings,
impressions of social abuse and the hardships of ordinary people

A few impressions of Auvers-sur-Oise, where Vincent took his life,
and where he is buried next to his brother, Theo

The sky above Auvers-sur-Oise, crazy colours in the sky...

The sunflowers, Nowadays the top pieces Vincent van Gogh in musea around the world
Jan van Gogh has combined the fascination with Vincent van Gogh's sunflower paintings
with Vincent's own fascination for partying, love and women

Much of Jan's painting and bronze casting with sunflowers
feature his own home-grown sunflowers
